Apparently the other night legendary diva Toni Braxton performed at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA as a special guest. All of the Braxton’s sisters including Tamar hit the stage, but what shocked the fans the most was that Toni’s new alleged boyfriend Birdman was there as well.

The new couple stood together on stage and shared a moment and as Birdman left the stage and Toni told the crowd to “respect that man ya’ll.”

#TheShortestInterviewEver: Birdman on the Breakfast Club

Birdman reached out to The Breakfast Club requesting to come onto the show but it appears things didn't go as well. With a small entourage of booty-goons, the Cash Money mogul arrived in the radio station visibly agitated.

Seconds before the interview was scheduled to go live, Birdman said, “All three of y’all stop playing with my name. Stop playing with my f*cking name. When my name come up, respect it. I ain’t going to say it no more.”

Charlamagne was already prepared for verbal sparring between himself and Birdman but he already set the tone of the interview before anyone asked a question. Charlamagne then questioned why Birdman even came to the show.

This must have pissed him off because Birdman fired back:

“I wanted to talk to you like a man in your face. I knew a few places you were at and I could’ve pulled up, but I didn’t think that was gangster. I wanted to look in your face like a man. It ain’t no issue. If it was an issue you would feel me.”

Charlamagne then asked, “Did you pull up on Ross that way, or Trick Daddy?”

Birdman shot back, “I’m pulling up on you, n*gga.”

And with that, Birdman asked if they were “finished” and “done.”

“I ain’t got no more talking,” he said, getting up and signaling to his entourage of booty-goons  to leave.

N'awlins Rapper Dee-1 Speaks on Mixtape Banned, and Paying Off Student Loans

The New Orleans-raised rapper, Dee-1, whose real name is David Augustine, used to teach middle school in Baton Rouge. Then, in 2015 he signed a major label record contract with RCA's Inspiration imprint which eventually led into a tour.

A few months back on Sway's Universe, Dee-1 explains why his Lil Wayne-inspired Separated at Birth mixtape was banned.

I'd like to apologize to all the fans. This is a project that was needed in hip hop and i was excited to give it to you all. All i can say is that 1. this industry is truly crazy smh, 2. some bold actions have taken place behind the scenes, and 3. some people fear what the truth sounds like. Trust me, if no one threatened legal recourse, I would still drop it because I worked hard on this and i think this music would bless all who hear it, and add a much-needed perspective to hip hop. The topic of my personal safety was also brought up to be honest, but truthfully God has me covered so I was neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever worried about that. Dee goes on to say, "I’m not doing my music for him to like or dislike,” Dee-1 said at the time. “I’m doing it for the fans to see that this is someone who heavily influenced me, but I’m choosing to take a direction with my music to where I want to be a role model. Lil Wayne doesn’t seem to be concerned with being a role model through his music, through the content.”

Dee-1 addresses whether or note his safety was in jeopardy after beef sparked with Cash Money Records:

In a new music video posted to Facebook on Feb. 11, Dee-1 celebrates paying off his student loans, dancing at a toga party, celebrating in front of Tiger Stadium, rhyming Equifax and eating ramen noodles.

Since posting to social media, "Sallie Mae Back" has been viewed about a million times.

In text excerpts in the video, Dee-1 explains what inspired it: "After making the minimum payment on his loans each month (well, some months, lol) Dee-1 signed a record deal and decided to use a chunk of his money to completely finish paying Sallie Mae back."

The video opens with a school administrator rattling off documents he needs from a line of students. Then the party starts.

Sallie Mae responded to Dee-1's new track on the rapper's Facebook, commenting on his post with the video's link: "We're all in the office singing along with you! Love, love, love the hook. Congratulations on your success!"

Birdman and Lil Wayne Finally Squash Beef but Not Legal Woes

I guess 2016 is looking better for both Birdman and Lil Wayne. It appears they both have put their issues asside over the weekend. Birdman took the stage at LIV nightclub in Miami alongside Weezy in a show to show their united front. 

Although, Lil Wayne's lawsuit against Cash Money is still active, Birdman told the crowd that the bond with his 'son' is unbreakable.

“This my motherfuckin’ son and I’ma die for him, I’ma live for him, and I’ll motherfuckin’ kill for him, ya heard me?” he said. “That ain’t gon’ never change. It’s YMCMB for life.”

Birdman then subliminally addressed those who have had his name in their mouths. It's speculated that he was talking about Rick Ross, who possibly dissed him on his Black Market song “Color Money.”

“But you bitch asses that be sayin’ my name, bitch, I’ma pull up,” he continued. “And I ain’t gon’ pull up talking, believe that. Rich Gang for life.”

So....Birdman Tried to Sign Slim Jesus to Cash Money?

Slim Jesus, (the Caucasian drill rapper from Ohio) who has openly admitted that he wasn't actually about the street life, is apparently still a hot commodity. Slim initially blew up off his song, "Drill Time," and it now appears that labels have since been calling the young rapper to try and lock down a deal. One of those labels calling was Cash Money and Birdman, and there is a video of his conversation with Slim to prove it.

The call was recorded by King Yella, who works with Slim, and included Baby selling Slim on the Cash Money Records lifestyle and how their system would best fit him as an artist. 

Earlier this month, Yella said in an interview that Slim hung up on Birdman when he called about signing him, but it's unclear if this was that same call.



It's worth noting that Birdman laughed at the idea of Lil Wayne leaving Cash Money when it was brought up, and said that he isn't going anywhere. Seeing that Slim literally lit a record contract on fire in an Instagram post last week, it doesn't seem likely that he'll be joining Cash Money anytime soon.  (source)

Another One Bites the Dust: Bow Wow Leaves Cash Money

As I stated when I posted: Is Nothing is Promised at YMCMB?

First Busta Rhymes, then Mystikal, and now...

Shad "Bow Wow" Moss just announced he is leaving Cash Money Records, after only five years signed to the label. He posted the video below to his Facebook, and he was quick to clarify: "This is a peaceful situation."

Making it very clear that there is no bad blood (no pun intended) towards  Cash Money, or Birdman,  he even went as far as to thank them for signing him in the first place.
"I wanna dictate when my music comes out. I'm tired of going to the studio to make records and then I listen to them. 'Cuz they get old... I just can't be held up by nobody. It's as simple as that."

He also was clear to announce that his rap career is far from over and that he is working with Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri. "Now that I have both of them in cahoots with each other, this is only gonna make my new situation even more monumental."

Young Thug Reveals Nude Cover Artwork For Carter 6 Album

The "penis smoking" rapper, Young Thug released the cover artwork of his upcoming album "Carter Six". 

VladTV reports:

The “Lifestyle” rapper shared the artwork on Instagram, featuring Young Thug nude, looking down at his man piece that has “Carter Six” scrolled over it in cursive red font. Many fans online are debating the meaning of the artwork, and questioning if there are any shots being taken at Lil Wayne.

Young Thug included April 17 on the post, leading everyone to believe that it’s his release date.

Update: Lawsuit Ain't Over - Lil Wayne Moves Case from New York to New Orleans

Yesterday, I reported that  Lil Wayne dropped the $51 million lawsuit against his "Daddy" Birdman but sources now confirms it ain't over! 

Ron Sweeney, tells Rolling Stone that the $51 million lawsuit is still on. According to Sweeney, that the suit was originally filed in New York City, where the Cash Money and Universal Music Group offices are located, and was restructured and re-filed in New Orleans where Weezy first signed his Cash Money contract in ’98.

Sweeney released a statement to Rolling Stone that reads as follows:

Lil Wayne and Young Money LLC have entered into a stipulation with Cash Money the effect of which is to transfer the claims raised in the action which had been commenced in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York to the Federal and/or State Courts of Louisiana,” the rapper’s legal team added in a statement to Rolling Stone. 

“The claims previously asserted by Lil Wayne and Young Money LLC against Cash Money for substantial monies owed and breach of fiduciary duty have not been settled and will be prosecuted in Louisiana as expeditiously as possible.

Wayne first filed his lawsuit against Cash Money Records back in January on the grounds that Birdman violated his deal and owes him tens of millions of dollars for delaying the release of Tha Carter V. Reports say that Birdman owed the rapper $8 million as an advance for Tha Carter V, which he never paid. Wayne was also supposed to receive an additional $2 million upon the album’s completion. Lil Wayne Drops the $51 Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Birdman

If you recall back in January, Lil Wayne vs. Birdman's legal documents surfaced onto the internet and everyone discovered that Lil Wayne was sueing Birdman for $51 Million dollars for the money he was owed and damages for them not releasing his album 'Tha Carter V'.

Sources close to Wayne explained at the time that the rapper was willing to drop the lawsuit if he was paid the $8 million advance he was owed when he began recording “Tha Carter V” and also the $2 million he was to be paid for completing the album. 

However on April 6th, Lil Wayne filed documents in the case stating he wishes to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit against Cash Money. He dismissed the case “without prejudice” meaning he could re-file but it appears the rapper and his mentor Birdman may have reached a truce. See the exclusive court docs.

Check out the full 21-page lawsuit against Cash Money.

If you need some not-so-light reading today, you can have a look at the 21-page lawsuit from Lil Wayne, against Cash Money. After reporting on the suit yesterday, which is for $51 million, all the documents from the lawsuit have now surfaced online. 

Tunechi is suing Cash Money for breaching his contract, after they failed to pay up a total of $10 million for his work on Tha Carter V. In addition to wanting out of his CM contract, he would like to be joint copyright owner of all the Young Money recordings.

Video: Mystikal Wants Out Of Cash Money Records

If you recall when Mystikal was released from prison back in 2010 a year later signed a record deal with Birdman and Cash Money Records but has yet to release any music besides a few features here and there.

Busta Rhymes Leaves Cash Money Records

If you all remember back in 2011, Busta Rhymes announced he was signing a deal to become a member of Cash Money Records which raised a few eyebrows. 

The Source Reports, despite the hype surrounding the signing and the music Busta was working on, he was never able to quite kick it into gear as a member of the label.  He released an album (Year Of The Dragon) via Google Play in 2012, and at the end of 2013 dropped a magnificent collaboration with Q-Tip, Lil’ Wayne & Kanye West, “Thank You”, that appeared to generate the buzz Busta needed to begin a potential album push for 2014, but that eventually fizzed out.

Today, the legendary New York emcee announced his departure from the label, citing the need to focus on his own vision and rollout for the LP.

If I feel like if, in the slightest way we ain’t facilitating everything necessary for the vision to be seen and executed in the way I’m envisioning this s–t for the last five years, let me live and die in my own own inequity, homie. After I see this through, if there’s other opportunities for us to explore as businessmen together, let’s continue to do it.
