In Celeb Drama Karlie Redd LHHATL reality TV Say what? VH1

The Real Reason Karlie Redd is on LHHATL

Like most reality TV shows the title doesn't match the characters. Real Houswives don't have to be married - heck you don't even need a house. There is no difference when it comes to the cast of Love and Hip Hop - Atlanta.

Throughout the seasons I am constantly wondering What is Karlie's connection to the show? Besides obviously holding onto Young Joc and linking herself with any new/old cast-mates to maintain her relevance. But how did she get on the show in the first place?

I’ve just learned that the 46-year-old VH1 Resident-Thot is the babymother of one of America’s most wanted fugitives 49-year-old Nathan ‘Nate’ Hill. Nate is currently serving a lifetime prison sentence, is the biological father of Karlie's 18-year-old daughter, Jazmine – rumored to be a student at Atlanta’s Clark University.

Now here is where things get janky and clears up why Karlie doesn't mention her kids or her life prior to 40 years old. HSK reported, back in January 1998 – Hill, who remained on the lamb for two-years, fleeing to Africa to avoid prosecution for supplying the Gangster Disciples and Vice Lords gangs with more than 6,600 pounds of cocaine from 1987 to 1995, was tracked down and caught by U.S. law enforcement officials in one of the most remote corners of the world: Conakry, capital of the West African nation of Guinea.

Here’s what deputy U.S. Marshal Bill O’Malley had to say about Hill’s arrest:
“Hill, who was wanted in Chicago on murder and drug-trafficking charges and was named to the U.S. Marshals Service’s 15 Most Wanted List in 1996, was traced to Conakry through telephone records in a related case. Hill was apprehended and flown to Chicago. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered held without bail.”
This after it was reported back in December 1996,“two girlfriends of Hill’s are also missing and presumed to be in hiding with him”.

That’s before Hill was sentenced to life and fined $8.5 million, and forfeited cash and property valued at $5 million. He was convicted of drug conspiracy, tax fraud, money laundering, operating an ongoing criminal enterprise and ordering the killings of three enemies, two of whom were, in fact, killed.

With his drug money, Hill moved into the recording business, founding New York-based Pocketown, named after his South Side neighborhood at 78th and Stony Island. Pocketown scored a top 10 music video with “Froggy Style” by Nuttin’ Nyce in 1995 and published “Wandering Eyes,” which was on the soundtrack of Whoopi Goldberg’s film “Sister Act 2.”

In Amina Buddafly Cardi B LHHNY Peter Gunz reality TV Say what? Tara Wallace VH1 whatsBeef?

Cardi B Went In and Let Have on Peter Gunz - Do You Agree?

If like me and many others you tuned in to VH1's Love and Hip Hop Reunion show. Despite the lackluster season the reunion is where all the tea is pipping hot.

Part 1 of  3 “Love & Hip Hop: New York” season 6 reunion was all the way lit (ain't thats what the young kids call it now, lol) One particular beef came from the former stripper Cardi B against Peter "Polygamist" Gunz for impregnating his wife Amina Buddafly Pankey and side/main chic/baby-momma Tara Wallace.

Apparently, during the reunion Peter decided to throw stones while leaving in a glass house at Cardi B by calling her a "hoe" for receiving money from tricks she smash.

Not one to hold her tongue Cardi responds,

“You got everything you wanted from me, why can’t I get something back? Look what you gave Amina and Tara: BABIES! And that’s it. Are you paying both of their rent? You know you not paying their rent.”

Peter quickly took defense and said, “Do you know me?”

Cardi quickly gathered him together by saying:

“I see what I see on TV. Men like you are the type of men I be talking about. You need to get from these guys what you want. You get p***y out of both of them, and what are they getting in return? What are they getting in return?! They look STUPID on TV!”

and drives her point home by saying...

“Old, washed up a** n*ggas who be fuckin’ b*tches lives up and their reputations. She’s [Amina] a talented as woman and Tara is a smart a** woman and you have them looking DUMB on TV. Love your wife! And love your kids. Look how you show your daughters how women should get treated!”

Geesh...here's the clip on how it all went down:

Mendeecees' Open Letter Before Turning Himself Into Prison

Mendeecees Harris (Husband of +VH1's Love & Hip Hop's Yandy Smith Harris) wrote a heart-felt post via his Instagram hours before turning himself into a Pennsylvania Penitentiary on Tuesday, January 19th to begin serving his 8-year bid for drug trafficking.

Mendeecees wrote:

“I know for some of you it feels like we’ve been here before, it’s the never ending story or some of you are probably so sick of hearing about me and this case that you completely tapped out and just don’t give a F#%k anymore, maybe never did (For you, stop reading now and please unfollow Asap). This message is for all those that have supported me, grew with me, changed hearts, minds and perspectives with me. When I was young, hungry and closed minded I acted as such. Now I’m wiser but it’s wisdom born through pain, so that means enduring this will just make me wiser and stronger. But who would have thought “Young DeeCee” that wore the ripped up worn shoes, that went to school on sugar sandwiches and borrowed rice would ever have a voice to speak to the masses. I was the one with nothing, no push to go to school, no dinner on the table at night, no kiss goodbye in the morning, all I had was me for awhile. Just Me, plane ole me ( I don’t have college degrees, a huge resume of internships and jobs) would be able to influence a generation. Who would have thought that my family would be a beacon of hope and love through out a community that’s so often taught family dysfunction, dissension and disloyalty. Men, step up! I’ve been there, where you are and I’ve learned in the end It truly is FAMILY OVER EVERYTHING! Fathers, go raise men! Men to lead their family. Men to do the right thing. No matter what you had to do or may still be doing raise them babies right! Also, when you raise a man you teach an individual but when you raise a woman you build a nation. Protect our nation builders fellas! I could go on for days but I want y’all to know I’m good [broken-heart emoji] but good. My family is strong, real strong, so their good. Keep @theharrisbunch in your prayers and I will keep you all updated through my brother running my page. Be blessed, keep in contact, build and encourage each other, stop the hating and see you when I return.”

In BioMovie Biopic HipHop Irv Gotti Love&HipHopNY Method Man Movie MurdaInc Say what? Tristian Wilds Mack Wilds VH1

Irv Gotti Not Too Happy About VH1’S ‘The Breaks’...Did You Watch it?

Hip Hop fans worldwide gathered together last night (after Love & Hip Hop of course) to catch Vh1's original movie 'The Breaks'.  The film is set in New York City and shines a light on Hip Hop in 1990's although the music was from the late 80's just before the culture took over mainstream America. While many people were pleased to watch stars such as Mack Wilds, Wood Harris and Method Man it seems like one famed record executive and entrepreneur was not at all pleased.

Irv Gotti took to Instagram to express his issues with the movie.

Gotti writes
Watching this Breaks Shit on Vh1. 1st off I didn't like the commercials they was running playing the Bridge is Over and the part where KRS says Queens Keeps on Faking it!! So now when I'm watching this watered down bullshit which is pissing me off cause they are not portraying Hip Hop Culture accurately!! But they still making my Borough look soft. Let me tell y'all something. I'm from that Purple Part in the pic I posted. And listen. Ain't nothing weak or soft about QB. And not only that @Vh1. QB has produced more superstar Rappers in hip hop than any other borough or place in the world for that matter. Shit looks like someone who doesn't know shit about our culture made this shit. And usually I would have kept quiet. But after the commercial and me watching this bullshit shit on my Borough. I had to post something. And to all my Hip Hop Culture people out there. That wants to see REAL depiction of OUR CULTURE. Sit tight. I'm on my way!! And I'm not a hater. At all. None of that is in my DNA. I love to see niggas win. But your not gonna disrespect QB. #queensgetthemoney #murderinctvseries Making Hip Hop look fucking Lame man. #gotmepissed #visionaryideas #wecomingmotherfuckers

Which ‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Star Recently Got Engaged?

When you publicly embarrass your baby mother what do you do to keep her? Get ENGAGED! That's what +VH1's ‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Star Don did.

Don's son mother, Ashley quickly went to Instagram to share her news of marrying the man of her dreams.

As we all know Don smashed Charmaine in the bathroom of the tattoo shop in the first episode. She claimed she wasn't aware that he was in a relationship prior to hook-up and based off the last episode she is having a hard time pulling away after Ashley approached her about the hook-up.

Black Ink Crew Chicago: Who's Rachel Leigh’s Baby Daddy?

Yes, I too enjoy the ratchets and last night was no different. +VH1  introduced us to a new spin-off show called Black Ink Crew Chicago.

Taking its viewers into the life of Chicago's prominent tattoo shop, 9Mag

I must admit it was very refreshing looking at these fine brothers handle business and surprisingly they are not only good looking they can actually TATTOO (what a concept).

The show opens up giving a brief insight of each cast member and what they do for the company. Something that was clearly missing from Black Ink New York.

The cast includes:

Ryan is the owner of 9Mag, a prominent Chicago tattoo shop. Ryan created 9Mag as a legacy to his late sister and niece. Ryan's drive and ambition are the strength of 9Mag, and he'll do whatever he can to keep his family together.

Kat is the hottest female tattoo artist in the Chicago area. She is the "little sister" of the shop and has the guys wrapped around her finger. Phor and Kat flirt shamelessly, but Kat finds it hard to commit because of her ambitious career goals.

Phor is a 9Mag tattoo artist, but his true love lies with music. He burns the candle at both ends - tattooing, spending time in the studio, and, of course, partying with his 9Mag family. He's quite the ladies' man, but he has his eye on Kat.

Charmaine is 9Mag's event planner. Her flirtatious nature creates tension and drama in the shop, especially between Don and his girlfriend, Ashley. But that doesn't stop Charmaine from tearing it up on AND off the dance floor. This Southern belle is a fireball and definitely knows how to capture a room.

Don is Phor's little brother, best friend, and assistant. Don has a great sense of humor and a big heart. Though he gets into his fair share of trouble, Don tries to maintain his focus so he can provide for his girlfriend, Ashley, and their two year old son, DJ.

Danielle is 9Mag's "good girl" receptionist who strives to keep it together when things are far from perfect. She is Charmaine's cousin, and Kat's former college roommate. While Danielle has her life together, she definitely knows how to throw down and party with the best of them. And, if you mess with her girls, watch out!

Van is Ryan's former business rival, and got his start tattooing in his mom's basement. Over time, he developed an incredible reputation as an artist. He took it to another level when he partnered with Ryan, his previous competition. Van is the "big brother" of the group and always tries to hold it down for the 9Mag family.

Did anyone notice how they deliberately omitted who's the baby daddy of  Ryan's ex-girlfriend Rachel Leigh 3-year old son?

Photo: Bossip.Com

I immediately went to 'black twitter' and inquired about the mystery sperm donor only to be shocked that it was R&B singer Jeremih!

As he mentioned with Billboard last November, the singer felt that many of his struggles toward the end of 2014 partially stemmed from an ongoing fight he had been engaging in to get rights to see his then 2-year-old son:
Jeremih says he’s ultimately responsible for his stutter-steps, explaining that he was consumed by a court battle with his child’s mother while “Don’t Tell ‘Em” was rising. “I stopped caring about being Jeremih over the last few months,” he says. “A lot of people don’t know I have a 2-year-old son. His mom wasn’t allowing me to see him, and it was messing with me. I was internally unbalanced. But I just got out of that trial and I won.” (source)

Not sure why they called him a rapper on the show but I love the fact that Ryan has stepped in as the father figure to Jeremih's son. Based on Jeremih's statement with Billboard I take it its 3-sides to this story. Especially since they blurred the faces of the son, maybe he didn't approve of his child being on the show.

ForeverMeah says...

Ryan is truly a gem. Faced with the death of his sister he maintaining a leveled head and trying to raise his son with Rachel. Rachel on the other hand seems like she only love Ryan as a friend but probably will go from 0 to 100 if he ever decided to move on.

Rachel can't get over Ryan cheated when she was pregnant with their child even though she went and got pregnant with Jeremih.

Kat --- umm, not sure yet. I need to see her more to form my opinion of her. I'll just say she's a great tattooist.

Phor -- is hilarious. I believe i've came across a music video he did in the past. I love his style and clearly he and Kat had sex or will soon.

Charmaine wants to be someone's wife but having sex on TV in the bathroom with your colleague (Don) just might not be the best way to go about getting that ring.

Don needs to leave his baby mother cause now the world know you ate the booty of your co-worker and kissed your girl within 30-minutes of the show. Don is sexy but not so smart.

Danielle and Van  don't remember much about them but I'm sure it'll be something to discuss soon.

Bottom line I am all drawn in and can't wait to watch next weeks episode. It's good to see Chiraq in another light besides the violence.

NY Tattoo Shop 'Black Ink' Sued After Woman Suffers Nasty Infection

Now this isn't my first time hearing about Vh1's Black Ink Tattoo Studio in Harlem getting sued by clients due to "jacked-up" tattoos. To their defense its never done by the actually cast members of the reality show but by someone else that apparently "works" for Caesar.

Sources has recently reportedLoni Tate, 31, said a trip to Harlem’s Black Ink Tattoo Studio, which is featured on a reality TV show, ended with her being hospitalized with an infection and permanent scarring.

“I have never been through anything like that,” the tattoo aficionado said.
The Harlem native got her first tattoo — a large Day of the Dead skull on her back — in 2012.
“I just thought they were cool and it’s a good way for self-expression,” she said.

Tate said she went to the Lenox Ave. shop for her sixth tattoo because she’s a fan of “Black Ink Crew,” the VH1 show about the business.
She’d gotten one there on her arm of a butterfly flying out of a skull — “I like skulls,” she said — in January 2014.
“I was very happy with it,” she said.
But her return trip three months later for a custom rose design on her forearm by another artist turned into a much thornier experience, she said.
The artist, Kelvin Cepeda, said he had to leave for “an event” about three hours in, and told her to come back the next day so he could finish up, Tate said.
She did, and said she was surprised to see he had a tattoo gun already set up when she walked in.
“They normally open it and set it up in front of you,” she said.
The red on black and black on red design came out just as she hoped, but three days later, “I was in excruciating pain,” Tate said. She said she texted Cepeda, who told her she’d feel better in “a couple of days.”
But Tate said she felt much, much worse.
“I felt like my arm was on fire, like I’d been burned,” she said.
The ink then started swelling and oozing, and Tate wound up getting hospitalized for four days while doctors battled a deep infection.Tate said she now believes Cepeda used a dirty tattoo pen on her. She’s suing the shop for unspecified damages, while her lawyer, Mark Shirian, is calling for stricter regulations for city tattoo shops.

“People need to understand that a tattoo procedure is the equivalent of undergoing minor surgery,” Shirian said.
“More stringent regulations must be adopted immediately in order to protect the health and well-being of New Yorkers.”
This is the third lawsuit brought against Black Ink.
Another action earlier this month involved permanent scarring left on the left breast of a woman from South Carolina who’d asked Black Ink artists to cover up her old unicorn and horseshoe tattoos with fruits and vegetables to reflect her new interest in cooking, PIX11 reported.
Tate hasn't gotten any tats since her incident, but said she will.“Don't be afraid to get a tattoo — just be cautious,” she said.

“Make sure the artist opens everything in front of you and everything is sterile.”
Black Ink did not respond to requests for comment.
“Black Ink Crew” is scheduled to return for a third season on VH1 in August.
The show’s website says the “docu-series follows the lives of Ceaser, Dutchess, Sassy, Puma and O’ S--t, as they work, live, party, and hang out in Harlem.”

#WatchThis: ‘ATL: The Untold Story of Atlanta’s Rise in the Rap Game’

The VH1 documentary ‘ATL: The Untold Story of Atlanta’s Rise in the Rap Game’ aired September 2nd and if you missed it you missed alot.

The show not only went through the musical history of Atlanta, it was also a Black History lesson in that the hip-hop explosion that occurred in our city also coincided with Atlanta’s civil rights legacy.
The documentary is different in that it touches on the city’s meager, mostly overlooked hip-hop beginnings and pays well-deserved homage to frequently overlooked early musical contributors like MC Shy D, Kilo Ali, Raheem the Dream, King Edward J., Arnell Star and more. (Source: Straightfromthea)
