In HBO Insecure Issa Rae reality TV TV Show

#IssaRae: Insecure Season 2 Review

The struggle was real last night but I made it through. After thinking I added HBO to my TV just so I can watch 'Insecure" I get an error message. After chatting with Comcast for 30 minutes and thanking the representative several times because I now can watch this anticipated series.  "This will cost you an additional $15.00 a month, is that ok?" says the rep. "Umm, sure", knowing damn well I am cancelling this subscription as soon as the season is over (and Starz).

I have taken great joy at watching the talented  Issa Rae glow-up. From youtube, to book deal, to the big screen - She wins for us all. Now back to show...

Issa
The scene opens up with Issa daydreaming about Lawrence while she is trying out the dating world. For a quick moment I was as caught up in the dream as she was....suddenly the real faces of the guys she was dating appears and realization that this is her new life without Lawrence. (inserts Issa rap about being a cheater lol) Issa now feels the need to throw a party to paint the picture she is enjoying the single life. She goes to the mailbox and noticed Lawrence received some mail from the court. She quickly will use this as an excuse to see Lawrence and throw in his face she is happy but to her disappointment he never showed up.

Molly
Now off to Ms. Molly... Molly took the advice of Issa and sought help from a therapist. Of which she is afraid to open up and express to Issa her ongoing issue with finding the "right therapist". Meanwhile at work Molly feels like she is being slighted because she is both black and a woman in a law firm. She is accidentally given a check that belongs to another employee and feels slighted that she isn't being compensated appropriately for the work she does. She begins to look at that employee differently and sparks a conversation to see if he got a raise recently.

Lawrence
Lawrence is introduced in the scene the same way he left us last season...D!cked-down in Tasha long-stroking her from the back. He is currently still looking for a place to stay and is crashing on an air mattress at his homeboy house. Making Tasha his weekend flame. His homeboy brings up that he doesn't take "the bank girl" on any dates and that he appears to just be smashing her. Trying to assure his nice-guy agenda he decides to take her on a date. (During the time he was scheduled to meet up with Issa). Soon after his date with Tasha Lawrence shows up at Issa place to pick up the mail. He knocks on the door to retrieve his mail and Issa opens the door with letter in hand. Lawrence then makes the excuse that he has to get something from out the bathroom. She allows him inside her home. As Lawrence makes his way back towards the front door he swoops Issa up and proceeds to bang her out on the couch.

Confused and uncertain of what just happened between Lawrence and Issa. I think he was trying to close this chapter with Issa but we all know he just made matters even worse. You can clearly see that Issa took that tryst as a "we working it out and we will be back together" but not for Lawrence.

In Adrienne Bailon Loni Love Say what? Tamar Braxton Tamara Mowry-Housley Toni Braxton TV Show

Was Tamar FIRED from The Real Talk Show?

I'm neither shocked nor disappointed by the latest news that Tamar Braxton was given the boot from her primetime talkshow 'The Real'. I truly could careless however the story behind her firing seems so much more interesting.

Rumors has it that Tamar was pushed out her chair at the table by her own co-stars which includes Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, and Jeannie Mai. Word is Tamara Mowry-Housley had nothing to do with it. To prove that Tamar unfollowed all the other cast-mates except Tamara.

This also prompted a quick removal from social media for Tamar who quickly took to Instagram regarding her early exit.

She posted with the below photo:

I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted ( not my man or my sisters) I am not about to be tried and tested to snitch (đŸ‘€) and it's not in good taste to tell you who...... but as #tamartians you are very smart and can figure things out on your own. But know that every one who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light. Thank GOD HE HOLDS MY FUTURE AND MY HAND! (Remember who u are)....I am Tamar Braxton. And if you thought for 1 sec u played me.....In the late great prince and the amazing BeyoncĂ© voice you PLAYED yourselfđŸ˜‚ to God be the Glory and I will be taking a short break from ALL social media...until then❤️ yourself and WATCH YOUR BACK ( I put this picture up cause this is the embrace I got from my sister and best friend that she ALWAYS gives when she knows I've been had)

The show and Tamar have released a joint statement confirming her departure. In its statement it reads:

“THE REAL and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season. She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career. Everyone associated with THE REAL appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future.”

In Oprah OWN Shonda Rhimes TV Show

Shonda Rhimes and Oprah Reveals Why They Won't Get Married

Image: OWN
At 45 years old, television producer and writer Shonda Rhimes is getting candid about marriage.

It might not sound like much of a revelation, but during a particularly transparent convo with Oprah on OWN’s “SuperSoul Sunday,” Rhimes explained how it’s actually a pivotal moment for a woman of a certain age (late 30s to 40s) to declare publicly, “I don’t want to get married.
“[It] feels obvious and maybe silly or something to people who are married or people who are older, people who have been through it,” Rhimes said “But if you’re a woman in your 30s or 40s, that’s a big deal. Everybody’s asking you all the time if it’s going to happen … There’s a huge amount of pressure.”
The mother of three went on to compare the pressure to how women are pressed to become mothers. “It’s a lot like the desire to want to have children in our society,” Rhimes said. “You’re supposed to want it, and if you don’t want it, what’s wrong with you?”

And while Rhimes admits she always wanted to become a parent, becoming a wife was never part of her big dream; even stretching back to early childhood.
“I’m one of those people, since I was 5, I could tell you I was going to have kids. I could tell you I was going to have three. I could tell you they were going to be girls,” she says. “But I have never wanted to get married. I never played bride. I was never interested. I don’t know what it is; I never wanted to get married.”
But that doesn’t mean she shies away from relationships altogether. “I love having boyfriends. I love dating,” Rhimes clarifies. “I do not want a husband in my house.”

Winfrey on the other hand, revealed at one point she wanted nothing more than to tie the knot with her longtime beau, Stedman Graham.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever said this publicly, but I really wanted to be wanted to be married to,” Oprah says. “I wanted Stedman to want to marry me. The moment he asked me to marry him I was, like … ‘Now I actually have to get married?’ ”
Graham proposed more than 20 years ago. However, the two never walked down the aisle. “I was supposed to do a book at the same time … and the wedding and the book were happening around the same time. We were on our way from the book party and Stedman said he did not want to have his wedding disturbed by all these people asking me about the book — which I ended up not doing,” Oprah says. “I said, ‘OK. All right.’ So he said, ‘We should just postpone this wedding.’ I said, ‘OK.’ And that was it. We have never discussed it again.”

It turns out however, the delay helped the talk show mogul come to an important realization about herself. “What I realized is, I don’t want to be married,” said Oprah. “Because I could not have the life that I created for myself … I knew that I couldn’t do it.”

Oddly enough, it appears that Rhimes and Winfrey believe that they couldn’t have it all … a husband, family, and a career. In the end, they chose success over love. And while there’s nothing wrong with that. Let’s keep it real, women juggle all three every day! What do you think of Rhimes and Winfrey’s candid comments about marriage? Sound off in the comment section below.

Raven-Symone joins 'The View' - @forevermeah

ABC is still trying to revive their sinking show "The View" by adding the new co-star Raven-Symone to replace Rosie Perez. (yawn) If you have nothing else to do during the day you may have noticed Ms. Raven 37-times as a guest-host. She will be working alongside Whoopi Goldberg and co-hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez.

Let the messiness begin.
