Singer Prince Dies at 57 😢

Dearly Beloved, 

"It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57," said his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure.

On Thursday (4/21), police said they were investigating a death at the Paisley Park studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Earlier this Month, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Prince canceled a concert date in that city. Some days later, he took the stage in Atlanta to perform. After that concert on April 14, the singer's plane made an emergency landing, Noel-Schure told CNN. At the time she said, "He is fine and at home."

Prince won seven Grammy Awards and earned 30 nominations. Five of his singles topped the charts and 14 other songs hit the Top 10. He won an Oscar for best original song score for "Purple Rain."

RIP: Sweetie Pie’s Robbie Montgomery Grandson Fatally Shot

Sadly, reports are circulating that Andre Montgomery, grandson of Sweetie Pie’s owner and star of the reality show “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” Robbie Montgomery, was killed Monday night in North St. Louis.

According to police, Andre Montgomery, 21, was found unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds at a home in 3900 block of Natural Bridge Monday night (Mar. 14). He died at the scene.

Two other men were injured during the shooting. Authorities say the shooting suspect(s) are unknown and an investigation is currently underway.

#BlackLivesMatter Activist Kills Himself In Front of Ohio Statehouse

“Let the record show that I pissed on the state house before I left,”

Around 3 p.m. Monday, February 8th, a cryptic message was left on the Facebook page of Ohio Black Lives Matter activist MarShawn M. McCarrel II: "My demons won today. I'm sorry."

Around 6 p.m. that day, McCarrel's body was found outside the front door of the Ohio Statehouse, the Columbus Dispatch reports. It's believed that McCarrel died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, although no one witnessed the shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old activist was instrumental in organizing protests in Ohio after the death of Ferguson, Mo., teenager Michael Brown in 2014.

According to the New York Daily News, McCarrel founded the "youth mentorship program Pursuing Our Dreams, which launched Feed the Streets, a project to help Ohio's homeless." Earlier this year, McCarrel was named one of Radio One's Hometown Champions, an award given to community activists.

"He is selfless and will give his last in order to make sure others don't go without,” read a nomination page for the Hometown Champions Award. "MarShawn has come so far in life and has inspired so many people to help others."

On Friday, McCarrel attended the NAACP Image Awards with his mother, according to the Daily News. Photo below:

Before his death, McCarrel posted a series of tweets. One that read, 

"Let the record show that I pissed on the state house before I left." In another he said, "If we don't have to live through hell just to get to heaven. I’ma stay right here with you."

Rest in Peace: Bobbi Kristina - @forevermeah

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's daughter Bobbi Kristina has died at the age of 22.

The Houston family announced the news via a statement from their rep. 

"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family," the statement says. "She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months." 

Bobbi Kristina's death came nearly six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Georgia home on January 31st. She never fully regained consciousness and was being kept on life support following her near-drowning. In March her family moved her to a long-term care facility in the Atlanta area.

Bobbi Kristina Remains on Life Support

I've been holding off posting the story of Bobbi Kristina's drowning and status because as I suspected when the news first broke that it's more to the story than what the "news" has been reporting.

Three years tomorrow (2/11) will mark the 3rd Anniversary of her mother, Whitney Houston's death and despite what has been reported the family will not be taking her off life support. 

Update: A lawyer for Bobby Brown just issued a statement, saying there is no truth to the story that Bobbi Kristina will be taken off life support tomorrow. As we reported, members of the Brown family informed us that was indeed the case. But the lawyer, Christopher Brown, says it's not so. 

Ironic enough Whitney was found drowned in the bathtub. Bobbi Kristina "was not breathing" when her a friend of her "boyfriend/brother" Maxwell Lomas, found her inside her townhouse in Atlanta, Georgia.

A week after she was rushed to the hospital, details of her condition are scarce. Sources close to the family say she opened her eyes briefly last Monday and also suffered seizures that same day. It was not immediately clear what medical significance these reported events have in Brown's case.

If you recall several months ago Bobbi Kristina had said she was married to Nick Gordon, but an attorney for her father said the two were never married.

WSB-TV in Atlanta says sources close to the investigation tell them certain injuries raised their concerns such as marks on her face ... and more specifically, her mouth.

Multiple sources say there is a history of violence in Boobi and Nick's relationship -- and their friend Max Lomas told police Nick was acting strangely before they found Bobbi Kristina.

Legendary D.C. Mayor Marion Barry Jr. Dies At 78

At age 78, former mayor of the District of Columbia and current Ward 8 council member Marion S. Barry, Jr. died today, according to reports. Hospital spokeswoman Natalie Williams confirmed Mr. Barry checked in at the United Medical Center in Washington around 12:30am and died at 1:46am.

No cause for Mr. Barry’s death was given, but over the years, the politician suffered from many health complications such as diabetes, prostate cancer and kidney ailments. He leaves behind his wife Cora Masters Barry and his only child,Marion Christopher Barry.

Mr. Barry’s family issued a statement, which reads:

It is with deep regret that the family of former Four-time D.C. Mayor, and Ward 8 City Councilman, Marion S. Barry, Jr., announces that he has passed.
Mr. Barry transitioned at approximately 12 midnight on November 23, 2014, at the United Medical Center, after having been released from Howard University Hospital on Saturday, November 22, 2014 

Mr. Barry released his autobiography “Mayor For Life, the Incredible Story of Marion Barry, Jr.” in June 2014. 

He will appear on OPRAH today at 9:00 p.m. EST to discuss his book, and 40 year political and civil rights career. 

He leaves behind his wife, Mrs. Cora Masters Barry and his only child, son Marion Christopher Barry.
