In Jesse Williams News Political News Say what? Stacey Dash

Somebody Please Tell Stacey Dash to Shut the Fuck Up

In her blog, Stacey Dash, 49, wrote that BET is “keeping racism and segregation alive,” and Williams’ speech was “nothing short of an attack on white people.”

Dash included a video of Williams’ remarks and wrote, “You’ve just seen the perfect example of a Hollywood plantation slave! Sorry, Mr. Williams. But the fact that you were standing onstage at those awards tells people you really don’t know what you’re talking about. Just spewing hate and anger.”

In his remarks, Williams said that whites have had a history of “ghettoizing and demeaning our creations and stealing them.”

Dash responded:

“If anyone is GHETTO-IZING anyone, it’s people like you letting the BETs and other media outlets portray us in stereotypes.”

However, the “Clueless” actress did not mention in her diatribe that in 2009 she had a recurring role on BET’s scripted show “The Game.”

Nor did Dash mention that Fox News, where she is a contributor, and its founder, Rupert Murdoch, have been accused of keeping racism alive by perpetuating negative stereotypes of Black people.

“Words are only as good as the response to those words,” Williams told People magazine following his speech. “But I’d like to think that I give people a sense that they are not alone.” -Jesse Williams

#WhitePrivilege? Rapist John Enochs Has No Worries

It's been called a "myth" that white privilege exist but tell me what do you call this?

As the Daily Mail reports,

Casual in a navy polo shirt and pink shorts, disgraced Indiana University frat boy John Enochs appeared not to have a care in the world as he enjoyed a round of golf on Thursday (6/30).

But his relaxing afternoon on the links comes just days after he was handed just 12 months' probation following his conviction for misdemeanor battery – and despite having originally been charged with two counts of felony rape.

Details of the soft sentence meted out to Enochs, 22, of Downers Grove, Illinois, and a plea deal struck with prosecutors sparked national outrage when it was announced.

The victim stated that she had been attacked at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house, where Enochs, now 22, was a member, in April 2015.

When the allegation emerged, another woman alleged that she too was raped by Enochs, in October 2013, and he was charged with both.

But Enochs instead pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of felony battery, while the two rape charges - which could have seen him jailed for 16 years - were thrown out.

A judge in Monroe County, Indiana, then reduced the felony to a misdemeanor.

His two victims have since spoken of their 'shock' at the soft sentence handed to the former frat boy – and say they had no prior knowledge of the deal that kept him out of jail.

Their attorney, Jeff Herman of Boca Raton, Florida, also used a strongly-worded statement to accuse his defense team and the prosecution of 'victim shaming' after they pointed out that other DNA, along with Enochs' own, was discovered on the 2013 victim.

He added: The comments about the other DNA are disappointing. It amounts to nothing more than victim shaming.

'The only relevant question is whether the perpetrator's DNA is present. Both of these young women should be applauded for their bravery in coming forward.'

In a statement presented to court, she described how she had been held down and forced into sex by Enochs – and was left with lacerations to her vagina as a result.

The victim told prosecutors that she did not know Enochs but was able to pick him out in a police line-up on April 21.

The second incident, which happened prior to a campus fraternity-sorority party, took place two years earlier in October 2013 and Enochs' DNA was found on the victim's body.

She says that she had no memory of the attack but woke to find herself in a lot of pain, while her friends claim to remember seeing the 22-year-old in her room.

Although the rape charge for the assault on the second victim was dismissed, she is now pursuing a civil case against him – along with two of his friends, Indiana University and the Delta Tau Delta fraternity itself.

That, however, appeared not to concern Enochs - who looked relaxed as he sped across the manicured links at Naperville Country Club in a golf buggy accompanied by a friend yesterday.

Harriet Tubman to Replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 Bill

Harriet Tubman – the 19th century abolitionist and suffragist who led multiple slaves through the Underground Railroad to the free states – is about to become the new face of the $20 bill, replacing slaveholder Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. (ViceNews)

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew will announce the change later today (4/20). Lew will also announce that the $10 bill will keep Alexander Hamilton on the front, but feature women who led the charge to give women the right to vote on the back of the bill.

Last May, the Treasury announced that it would feature a woman alongside Hamilton, but didn't designate how the design would work. The $5 bill will also be refreshed, and will feature civil rights leaders, Politico also reported.

While the new $10 bill is expected to be released in 2020, the updated $20 bill isn't expected to be issued until 2030 at the earliest, according to a report from CNN; citing the lengthy approval process by the Advanced Counterfeit Deterrence steering committee, which is made up by representatives from the the Treasury, the US Secret Service, the Federal Reserve.

A black woman born into slavery replaces a white slave owner on $20 bill would have been a better headliner if it was true.

Since she will be featured on the back of the bill this feels more like blood-money.

Although some may appreciate the gesture I'm the least bit moved by it. I didn't get that proud feeling when Barak Obama was elected POTUS.✊🏽

With that said... I have mixed emotions about it. A win is a win.

In Apartheid News Political News SadNews South African Stay Woke

South Africa is Still Dealing with the Horrors of Apartheid

It's been reported that for more than three decades, Nokuthula Simelane’s family has agonized over her fate.

Simelane was just 23, a university graduate and anti-apartheid activist, when she was kidnapped by security branch police officers in 1983. The policemen beat and tortured her for being a courier for uMkhonto weSizwe (“Spear of the Nation”), the armed wing of the African National Congress (ANC), transporting messages between South Africa and Swaziland.

Simelane was never seen again, and her body never found.

Now, 33 years after she went missing, state prosecutors have announced they will charge four former police officers in her kidnapping and murder.

Willem Coetzee, Anton Pretorius, Frederick Mong and Msebenzi Radebe appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Feb. 26, where they were granted bail and the case is postponed until March 29. The men are facing charges of murder, with Radebe facing an additional charge of kidnapping.

Members of the death squad also included one African traitor
