In Celebrity News Dee Barnes Dr. Dre NWA Say what?

Dr. Dre is Finally Apologizes for Slapping Journalist Dee Barnes

In his HBO documentary, “The Defiant One’s,” Dre admits he physically attacked the journalist after he felt she negatively portrayed NWA. Here’s what happened:
“He picked her up by her hair and “began slamming her head and the right side of her body repeatedly against a brick wall near the stairway” as his bodyguard held off the crowd with a gun.
After Dre tried to throw her down the stairs and failed, he began kicking her in the ribs and hands. She escaped and ran into the women’s restroom. Dre followed her and “grabbed her from behind by the hair again and proceeded to punch her in the back of the head.”

And here’s Dre’s apology:
“Any man who puts his hands on a female is f*cking idiot. He’s out of his fucking mind, and I was out of my fucking mind at the time. I fucked up, I paid for it, I’m sorry for it, and I apologize for it. I have this dark cloud that follows me, and it’s going to be attached to me forever. It’s a major blemish on who I am as a man.” – D. Dre

In BioMovie Dr. Dre. Eazy-E Ice Cube NWA StraightOuttaCompton

Box Office: 'Straight Outta Compton' Scores $60M Opening Weekend

Straight Outta Compton is indeed the least surprising surprise hit of the summer, soaring to an incredible $60.2 million in its debut weekend almost doubling the $29 million it cost to make the film.

"'Straight Outta Compton' is for Universal yet another example of a perfectly realized distribution and marketing plan that brought an important story to the big screen," Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Rentrak said, according to CNN Money. "Not only did audiences clearly love the film, but critics were on board as well."

Straight Outta Compton was released on August 14, and tells the story of the rise of the Compton, California-based rap group, N.W.A.

I’m still in awe after watching ‘Straight Outta Compton' it was funny, sad, endearing, moving, powerful, REAL, and all around AMAZING. Easily the best movie I’ve seen in such a long time!! O'Shea Jackson Jr., Jason Mitchell, and Corey Hawkins did such a phenomenal job portraying Ice Cube. EAZY-E, and Dr. Dre. Aldis Hodge (MC Ren) and Neil Brown, Jr. (DJ Yella) also did wonderfully done jobs! I applaud them all on truly becoming N.W.A. They did such a raw and dope job on delivering their real-life counterparts that I just want to go back and watch the movie again and again. I know it’s all based on a true story and we could read about it all on Wiki or interviews or other articles, but seeing it played out the way it was? Nothing comes close to seeing these young men become N.W.A. on the big screen. Wow. Just wow.

In Biopic Celebrity Children Dr. Dre Eazy-E NWA

Eazy-E’s Daughter Speaks Out on “Straight Outta Compton” N.W.A Biopic

Eazy-E’s daughter, Erin Bria Wright, recently spoke with Rolling Out to share her thoughts on the recently released N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton.

Overall, I think it’s an incredible film,” Erin Wright says. “It’s very powerful and historical, and I’m really excited for everyone to see it. I also have to speak on Jason Mitchell, who portrayed my father. He just did a phenomenal job.

Speaking on the portrayal of her father by actor Jason Mitchell, Erin Wright says that she feels no one could have played the role better.

In real life, Jason and I have hung out and he’s my really good friend, but when you see him in costume and on the big screen, it was kind of scary,” she says. “I mean, I literally felt like he was my father, and he did a great job. Even just the memories that I have with my dad, and all the stories I’ve heard, and everything that I’ve imagined in all of these years is what I saw on the screen from Jason and I could not be more proud. I don’t think anybody could have played my father better than he did.”

Wright also spoke on the lasting legacy of the film.

I think this is a classic film, and they are a classic group like The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles and this is a story about the revolution,” Erin Wright says. “Even today it’s still so relevant with a lot of things that they touch on from police brutality to racism and things that are still going on today, and it’s very informative and I think people are going to love it forever.

Erin, who was just four-years-old when her father passed away, also opened up about what her mother has told her regarding Eazy-E’s relationship with the other N.W.A members in his final days.

They did have a lot of issues behind Jerry but they were younger then, and they didn’t really understand the business back then correctly,” she says. “What my dad and Jerry did was equivalent to what Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine did today. So I think with them being older now, they get it. At the time, things may have seemed off, but before my father passed away, he did speak with Dre personally and he did want to get them back together. But, unfortunately, he did end up passing before all of that could happen.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Erin spoke on a documentary that herself, her mother and her sister are working on that is set to detail Eazy-E’s life and in particular, the scandal surrounding the rapper’s death.

My sister, my mother Tracy, and I are producing a documentary which will go into more of my dad’s life and his story,” she says. “The movie touched a little bit on his life, but overall, it was the story of N.W.A. and how Ruthless was started, and all of that but it just wasn’t about Eazy-E. So in the documentary, I’m going to touch more on my dad’s life but it’s mainly going to focus on his death and a lot of things that people don’t know including all of the scandal behind it, the conspiracy behind it, and what happened afterwards.” (source)

Suge Knight and Dr. Dre's  Ex Miche’le Speaks On His Pending Criminal Case and Dre's relationship with Suge:

“A man goes through his whole life with all these speculatory things that have happened,” she told Vlad TV, “and just in that split second, that’s the decision that actually sums up your whole entire life. You’ve been served fifteen lives. You’ve been to prison, done prison time, you’ve been shot an enormous amount of times, you beat jail time a lot, and then all of a sudden, in a split second, something that you probably didn’t even intend to do happened. It’s just ironic.”
