Kendrick Lamar Facing Pressure to Release Another Hit Album

Kendrick talks to Complex for their August/September 2014 issue about taking his time on the next release, so that measuring up to the skill that he showed during Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City will be easy like Sunday morning.

While hopeful Kendrick’s creating an album process is near, there is still no cover art, he admits to have recorded about 30-40 possible tracks and he’s still, “flirting with ideas.”

Complex.Com reported, Kendrick Lamar is under pressure.

After releasing what is considered the best rap album of the past half decade (2012’s good Kid, m.A.A.d City), TDE’s golden child has stayed relatively quiet. Well, except for the time he hopped on that song and proceeded to tell every rapper within earshot to step their game up.

Then there was the time he was nominated for seven Grammy awards, including ones for Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Best Rap Song, failed to take home a single golden gramophone, and had Macklemore publicly apologize for "robbing him."

But, still, compared to his peers, K Dot has kept things on the hush. And for good reason.

ForeverMeah says...

“Kendrick shook up the rap game, so anticipation for his second offering is through the roof,” says Nas. TRUTH! “Whatever he does will be appreciated, but at the same time he knows he has to bring it,” he adds. Also, TRUTH! I’ll just be over here biting my nails as I wait.
